Amor Furniture Expands

Liberty, N.C.-based Amor Furniture plans to add a 74,000-square-foot facility to keep up with demand.
Amor Furniture and Bedding, which makes several brands of promotional-priced furniture and is based in Liberty in Randolph County, is adding a 74,000-square-foot factory in nearby Staley.
The expansion will allow the company to keep up with demand for its products, which are sold under names such as Sleep Line Bedding and Southern Comfort Furniture. Amor currently has 15 employees and hopes to add another 20 soon.
CEO Spiro Laousis told the paper that sales have gone well because of Amor's strong Internet presence and its focus on value-priced products. Dealers have told the company it's not worth it to import furniture at low price points because of the cost of freight, which means Amor is filling a needed niche with its domestic manufacturing.
